Branding, Website Build, & digital assets

Cicada Partners is a fintech platform that helps institutions access stable, reliable lending powered by digital currencies. As an early–stage comapny, they were looking for a unique visual identity that could be implemented across all of their platforms.
I created a standardized brand guide, built a marketing site, and did an overhaul of their research-driven dashboard, along with an updated slide deck and banners for social.

The CICADA: longevity, rebirth, and power in numbers

The cicada captures the very principles that shape the team’s work as credit managers—making it the perfect symbol for the company. I wanted to reference the insect in a way that felt fitting for a fintech company, but kept an element of nature.
I headed to the Insectarium at the Natural History Museum for inspiration. There, I was able to get a close–up view of the cicada and had the idea to capture the pattern that adorns the body of the insect.
Abstract organic patterns

Paired with disrupted grid lines, the graphics successfully gave Cicada Partners a unique identity in the industry and offered a consistent, scalable look across their desired platforms. I created a graphic library using variations of the design and completed the branding with in-depth guidelines and best practices.

The redesign of Cicada Partners' online presence was done in two parts. First, I created their marketing site in Webflow, starting from scratch to build a custom grid template to support the new visuals across screens. I created a Zapier automation to continuously populate the "What We Think" section with new blog posts from Medium. After configuring Search Engine Optimization and submitting to the Google Search Console, the site was launched.

The team uses Notion as their backend platform to house their research in Tokenized Risk Assessment of various methodologies and indices. Previously, their front-facing site had minimal formatting and lacked any visuals aside from their company logo and stock photos. To bring a consistent user experience to the dashboard, I created page templates through Super and custom graphs through ChartBase. The Notion pages were effectively decked in a custom, brand-fitting wrapper, allowing the team to easily make edits to the database without disrupting their workflow.

THE RESULT
Users experience a seamless transition between the marketing homepage and Notion dashboard pages.
